Inside Line Promotions - SALINA, Okla. (Aug. 20, 2013) - Blake Hahn is looking forward to a new challenge as he is set to kick off four straight nights of racing for car owner Bruce Griffith this week on Wednesday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., with the USAC Southwest.
"I'm super excited, especially being at Creek County Speedway," Hahn said of his first career nonwing sprint car race. "I've raced without a wing in micros and I've done some midget racing, but this will be the first time in a sprint car."
It comes on the heels of a mechanically plagued event last Saturday with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour at Salina Highbanks Speedway. Hahn ended the night before the checkered flag in his heat race because of an engine issue.
"We ran about seven laps and hurt another motor," he said. "It just started shaking and it slowed down. I pulled it out of gear and pulled off.
"We're gonna pull the engine out of the No. 52 and put it in Bruce's car."
Following the nonwing event, Hahn is slated to compete with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Thursday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., before a couple of ASCS Gulf South Region events. On Friday, he will race at Heart O'Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas.
"Hopefully we can get through all of the races without any mechanical problems and have a successful weekend," Hahn said.
