SAPULAPA, Okla. (June 3, 2015) The Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour makes its first trip to Oklahoma in 2015 this Saturday with a trip to the Salina Highbanks Speedway.
For Blake Hahn, that means a casual stroll to the track on Saturday.
“I’m really excited for this Saturday. Racing in front of basically my hometown crowd is something I don’t get to do much, and it’s refreshing to have so many friends and family in attendance,” commented Hahn on the coming weekend.
While Hahn looks forward to this weekend, the goal is to find out if the teams has rectified the handling problems on the Lucas Oil / CSR Garage No. 52.
Hahn was blunt in his recapitulation of events at Eagle and Belleville, “We just sucked. At first I thought I just had a dead shock because it kept laying over on the right side but when we started checking into it, we found where the left front torsion bar was bound up in the tube. We straightened it as much as we could as the track, but it still wasn’t right in the B-Feature so we ended up taking a provisional into the “A” so we didn’t take a hard hit in points.”
On to Sunday at the Belleville High Banks, a little more work with the sledge hammer had things going in the right direction, “The car was a lot better. We were able to win the Heat, but it was still sticking in the A-Feature, but the car was 100 percent better, but it still wasn't the run I know this team is capable of.”
Asked about the condition of the car for this weekend, Blake replied, “We were able to get the tools we needed to get the tube straight from Smiley’s on Monday, so thankfully we don’t need to cut on the car.”
Blake’s No. 52 will be on display in Pryor, Okla. on Saturday from Noon to 3:00 P.M. (CT) at Charlie’s Chicken located at 34 S Mill St. Pryor, OK 74361.
